destinations: shillong, kaziranga, tawang

A high-intensity "Trans-Himalayan Surge" ascending from the rain-fed bio-architecture of the Khasi Hills, through the rhino-savannah of the Brahmaputra, to the 14,000ft Buddhist frontier. This sprint focuses on the radical shift in ecology from the "Pine City" plateau to the primal river-plains and the thin-air alpine ridges.

The Daily Rhythm & Route: SHL → Kaziranga → Tawang → GAU

Arrival: Umroi Airport (SHL) | Departure: Guwahati Airport (GAU)

  • Days 1–3: The Entry & Foundation – Arrival in the Shillong highlands. This phase centers on "Pine-Forest Bathing" in private heritage groves and silent sunset navigation at Umiam Lake. Travelers establish the "Stillness Protocol," identifying the transition from humid plains to the crisp, resinous air of the Khasi plateau.

  • Days 4–6: The Immersion & Ascent – A descent into the Kaziranga floodplains for "Rhino Tracking." This stage focuses on the "Brahmaputra Pulse," featuring elephant-back monitoring of the one-horned rhino and Jeep-based predator tracking. The phase concludes with the start of the vertical climb into the Himalayan foothills.

  • Days 7–8: The Depth & Discovery – The circuit reaches the Tawang ridge at 10,000ft. The focus is on "High-Altitude Soundscapes," with treks to the Sela Pass and the 17th-century Tawang Monastery. Travelers experience the "Alpine Shift," witnessing the stark, primal transition from subtropical forest to the sub-zero silence of the high-altitude frontier. Departure from Guwahati.

the 14-day primal odyssey (the tectonic & tribal trail)

destinations: shillong, kaziranga, tawang, guwahati, gangtok

An exhaustive 14-day traverse from the "Cloud-Abode" of Meghalaya to the alpine ridges of Sikkim. This odyssey tracks the movement of life across the Great Himalayan gradient, moving from the matrilineal forest-cultures of the south to the high-altitude monastic resilience and tectonic power of the Eastern peaks.

The Daily Rhythm & Route: SHL → Kaziranga → Tawang → Guwahati → Gangtok → IXB

Arrival: Umroi Airport (SHL) | Departure: Bagdogra International (IXB)

  • Days 1–4: The Entry & Foundation – Arrival in Shillong. Orientation in the Khasi Hills (Shillong) and Kaziranga floodplains. Travelers establish the "Silent Entry" protocol through the "Living Root Bridges" and conduct rhino-savannah audits. This phase anchors the traveler in the lower-altitude "Lungs of the East" before the northward surge.

  • Days 5–8: The Immersion & Ascent – The vertical climb to Tawang. This phase focuses on "The Altitude Pivot," moving from the rhino-savannah to the 14,000ft Buddhist frontier. Travelers engage in "Ridge-walking" and monastic silence sessions, experiencing the physical and sensory demand of the high-altitude tectonic shift.

  • Days 9–11: The Depth & Discovery – A transit via Guwahati into the Sikkim highlands. This stage centers on the "River-to-Ridge" transition, moving through the Teesta valley. Travelers participate in "Botanical Audits" of the endemic orchids and track the movement of the Red Panda within the private high-altitude forest corridors of Gangtok.

  • Days 12–14: The Slow-Travel Reflection – The final arc focuses on the "Alpine Pulse" of Sikkim. Activities include a high-altitude trek to Tsomgo Lake and a final "Mountain Feast" with traditional Tongba. The rewilding concludes with the 4-hour descent to Bagdogra, reflecting on a 14-day journey from the rain-fed valleys to the jagged peaks of the Kanchenjunga range. Departure from Bagdogra.
